At the Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice (IMIRJ), we believe welcome is an action, not an abstract ideal. Operating in Beaverton through a collaborative partnership with the City of Hillsboro and Aloha United Methodist Church, the Welcome Center coordinates volunteer efforts and community partners to provide direct aid to our immigrant neighbors and local families. From essential groceries to basic household supplies, the Center exists to ensure no family has to navigate systemic barriers and hardship alone.
Meeting a Growing Need
As living costs rise, community requests for food assistance and essential household items continue to expand. For many families, accessing staple pantry items and reliable transportation relief makes an immediate, tangible difference in their stability. Our programs run on mutual aid and community trust, connecting people directly to coordinated services, resource navigation, and immediate relief.
Most Urgently Needed Items
You can help keep our distribution tables full by contributing the items our families request most frequently:
Nutritional Staples: Baby formula (including NIDO), shelf-stable milk, and frozen or shelf-stable meats.
Direct Resource Gift Cards: $25 Fred Meyer gas cards (to assist with work commutes and essential appointments) and $50 Winco cards (for flexible family grocery purchases).
Household Essentials: Toiletries, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
