About the Network

The Statewide Accompaniment Network (SWAN) unites grassroots and non-profit organizations across Oregon to provide transportation and moral support to community members facing mandatory immigration proceedings. Grounded in local migrant leadership, our coalition ensures no one has to navigate high-risk ICE check-ins, court hearings, or agency appointments alone.

Organizations

IMIrJ (Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice)

Overview: Provides transportation and volunteer accompaniment to mandatory immigration proceedings in and around Portland, including immigration court, USCIS appointments, ISAP check-ins, ICE check-ins, local courts, and police precincts.
Service Area: Portland Metro Area.
Notice Required: 1 week.

Overview: Coordinates statewide to accompany residents to federal immigration appointments, including ICE check-ins (Eugene and Portland), EOIR Immigration Court (Portland), USCIS, and ECO enrollment.
Service Area: Lane County (Eugene, Springfield, Creswell, Cottage Grove, Junction City, Florence).
Notice Required: At least 2-weeks’ notice preferred.

Lane County Accompaniment

Defensa Transport

Overview: An initiative of Linn-Benton Defensa del Barrio providing rides to ICE, USCIS, and ECO appointments in Portland and Eugene, alongside limited local transport for essential medical, legal, banking, and shopping needs.
Service Area: Linn and Benton Counties (primarily Albany and Corvallis, with occasional trips from Salem and the Coast).
Notice Required: Flexible coordination via local partner agencies.

Oregon Rural Action

Overview: Offers moral support and accompaniment to individuals navigating immigration proceedings, including ICE/ISAP check-ins, court hearings, and other mandatory appointments.
Service Area: Eastern Oregon.
Notice Required: At least 1 week preferred.
How to Request: Fill out the ORA IJ Support request form.

The Latino Community Association (LCA)

Overview: Transports Central Oregon residents to ICE check-ins, immigration court, and USCIS appointments in Portland, Medford, and Eugene. Offers case-by-case support for local court, police, and medical visits, prioritizing high-risk cases, families with young children, and those lacking transportation.
Service Area: Central Oregon (Prineville, Madras, Redmond, Bend).
Notice Required: 2 weeks.
How to Request: Call a regional LCA office (Prineville, Madras, Redmond, or Bend) for help completing the request form.

NOWIA Unete

Overview: Assists community members with transportation and accompaniment to the Medford ICE office, district and circuit courts, ECO services, court hearings, and USCIS proceedings.
Service Area: Jackson and Josephine Counties.
Notice Required: 2 weeks required (last-minute requests considered).

Mano a Mano Family Center

Overview: Accompanies families to mandatory in-person immigration appointments, local court hearings, and interactions with the local police department.

Service Area: Salem and Keizer area.

Notice Required: 2 weeks requested (last-minute requests accommodated when possible).

Conexion Fenix

Overview: Provides transportation and accompaniment from coastal communities to immigration court, USCIS, ISAP, ICE, local courts, and police precincts in Portland and Eugene.
Service Area: Lincoln County.
Notice Required: 2 weeks preferred.
