Sacred Organizing
Sacred Organizing is IMIrJ’s values-based approach to community action rooted in faith, spirituality, and moral responsibility. It brings together people from diverse faith traditions and communities to stand in solidarity with immigrants. Through sacred organizing, IMIrJ nurtures relationships, builds leadership, and mobilizes communities to respond to injustice with compassion, reflection, and collective action. This approach centers dignity, healing, and hope, recognizing advocacy work as both a spiritual and communal practice.
Mutual Aid Support focuses on meeting the immediate, everyday needs of immigrants and asylum seekers through shared community care. Rather than charity, mutual aid emphasizes reciprocity and solidarity, where communities support one another directly. IMIrJ’s mutual aid includes assistance with food, rent support, transportation, emergency funds, and other essential resources. These efforts help stabilize individuals and families while they navigate immigration challenges.
Together, Sacred Organizing and Mutual Aid Support reflect IMIrJ’s holistic mission: addressing urgent material needs while building strong, compassionate communities that work toward long-term justice and systemic change.
