40+ Accompaniments and a Growing Statewide Network

The immigration system is notoriously complex, intimidating, and often deeply isolating. At IMIrJ, we believe that true justice means no one should ever have to walk that path alone. This past month, thanks to our volunteers' dedication and our supporters' generosity, we provided more than 40 accompaniments to community members facing immigration proceedings. This is an increase of 10 accompaniments from last month alone, a clear indicator that the need for compassionate, steadfast support is growing rapidly in our communities.

Our accompaniment program is more than just a logistical service; it is a profound act of community solidarity. When we show up to immigration court, ICE check-ins, or other critical appointments, we bear witness, offer moral support, and remind our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and fiercely protected. Now, more than ever, this physical presence is crucial for the safety and well-being of our immigrant neighbors as they navigate a system designed to overwhelm them.

Our vision for justice extends far beyond our immediate neighborhoods. We are proud to highlight our ongoing, statewide coordination through SWAN (Statewide Accompaniment Network). By linking arms with other grassroots organizations across Oregon, we are building a formidable, interconnected web of support. Together, we share resources, strategy, and care to ensure immigrants from every corner of the state have access to the accompaniment they deserve.

Your contributions directly fund these vital networks of care across Oregon. Please consider making a gift today to sustain this life-changing work, or sign up to volunteer as an accompanier. Visit www.imirj.org to take action.
