The Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice (IMIrJ) has always been grounded in a simple but profound belief: that our communities are stronger when we stand together. Today, we want to pause and extend our deepest gratitude to the lifeblood of our organization, our dedicated volunteers. From the courtrooms to the community centers, their unwavering commitment transforms our vision of a just, welcoming Oregon into a daily reality.
Navigating the immigration system can be an incredibly isolating and intimidating experience for our neighbors. That is why our volunteer companions play such a critical role. By showing up and standing in solidarity during immigration appointments and hearings, they offer more than a physical presence; they provide emotional grounding, dignity, and a clear message: our neighbors do not walk alone. This accompaniment work powerfully reflects the community we are building together.
Equally essential are the volunteers who breathe life into our Welcome Center. Through their tireless work organizing and delivering food, they meet basic needs with grace and humanity. This foundational support provides our neighbors with the stability they need to thrive. When our generous donors ask where their contributions go, they need look no further than this incredible network of volunteers, who leverage every resource we have to deliver tangible, life-changing care.
Without these generous individuals, none of our advocacy or direct support would be possible. Every hour volunteered, and every dollar donated, ripples outward, touching individual lives and collectively making Oregon a true sanctuary of welcome. To everyone who gives their time and every donor who makes our programs possible, thank you.
