Food, Film, and Community: A Special Fundraiser for IMIrJ

Join us for a screening of the docuseries Food Foray and taste the vibrant stories of our immigrant and refugee neighbors.

Food has a beautiful way of acting as a glue—bringing us together, sparking deep conversations, and crossing cultural boundaries. This fall, IMIrJ invites you to a unique fundraising event that celebrates the rich, diverse flavors and stories of our community.

We are thrilled to present a special screening of Food Foray, an original docuseries produced by MetroEast Community Media. The series takes viewers on a heartwarming culinary journey through East Multnomah County, exploring international grocery stores, home-cooked meals, and intimate table conversations about identity, immigration, and home.

A Feast for the Screen and the Palate

This isn't just a movie night—it’s an immersive experience! As you watch the first three episodes of the series, you will also get to sample the very foods featured on screen. Prepare your taste buds to journey through:

  • The Republic of Georgia: Savory, comforting flavors and traditional dishes.

  • Oaxaca, Mexico: Rich, complex spices and authentic regional staples.

  • Myanmar (Burma): Vibrant, aromatic, and deeply comforting dishes.

Fueling the Movement

Every dollar raised during this event will go directly toward supporting IMIrJ’s unrestricted work. Your generosity allows us to stay agile, responding to the community's greatest needs at any given moment—whether that means accompanying families through systemic uncertainty, offering sanctuary, or building a more welcoming Oregon.
